This is not what you think. In the pixels of my images, you will lose yourself in the search for the source, what Walter Benjamin referred to as the Jetztzeit, the “here and now”. The images are reconstructed realities derived from search engine algorithms. As we create copies of copies on the internet, artificial intelligence systems begin to classify, interpret, and filter individual elements of them. My work visualizes this process and its ramifications on image content. The result is a lexicon of supposedly imaginary snapshots.
